Based on our recent Life Safety Survey, it was determined Morganfield Nursing and Rehab. had deficient practice of improper use of power strips located in resident rooms. For the plan of correction, management and maintenance is currently working on the increase of electrical outlets. Therefore, please do not bring in power strips or extension cords as they are prohibited in the facility unless used for an emergency temporary purpose.

Resident personal refrigerators are to be no larger than 1.7 cu ft. and placed on the floor. Floor space will need to be managed for mobility and transfers and refrain from posing a fall risk with the residents. Administration and maintenance have been working diligently to assist with room modifications to accommodate personal items for compliance with safety regulations. New protocols have been established requiring regular inspections in the facility to ensure compliance with electrical safety standards and life safety standards.

Thank you for your cooperation,
Lainie Brinkley, Administrator
